CMSA Appeals Mechanism
PLEASE NOTE that candidates that wish to lodge an appeal against the outcome of his/her written examination results must do so in accordance with the provisions of the CMSA’s Appeals Mechanism Policy. Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) are not made available to candidates for review in accordance with the CMSA’s Appeals Mechanism Policy. A copy of the Appeals Mechanism Policy is available at

Exit Examination: 2 written papers and practical examination.
This examination is capped at 80 candidates per sitting from the FS2020 set of examinations. A waiting list will be opened but there is NO guarantee that you will get a place once capacity has been reached.
Medals
THE WALTER G KLOECK MEDAL was endowed in 1992 by the Department of Family Medicine, University of the Witwatersrand and is awarded to candidates who obtain distinguished results in the Diploma examination in Primary Emergency Care of the College of Emergency Medicine of South Africa.
THE CAMPBELL MacFARLANE MEDAL was endowed in 2006 by Life Healthcare and is awarded to candidates who achieve outstanding results in the Practical component of the Diploma examination in Primary Emergency Care of the College of Emergency Medicine of South Africa.
