COMMUNIQUE TO 2021 2ND SEMESTER EXAMINATION CANDIDATES

Posted: 2021/04/05 08:30:18 PM

The CMSA is pleased to inform you that, in the interests of our candidates, we continue to successfully navigate the challenges of COVID-19 and offer examinations, albeit with some changes.

For the written examinations, MCQ examinations will all be online, while Short Answer Question (SAQ) papers will either be answered on paper or typed online. Your College will inform you which applies to your exam. The oral examinations will be by videoconference. Some Colleges may add written (case-based) examinations. These new modalities have been well received by candidates in the last two semesters. Additional time has been allocated for examinations that require typing, but should you be a slow typist, you may wish to do an online typing tutorial.

Please note that the examinations are now spread over a longer period. The written examinations will take place from 5 July to 13 August 2021 and the oral examinations from 30 August to 3 November 2021. The detailed written exam timetable is already available on our website www.cmsa.co.za.  Both written and oral examinations will be offered in Bloemfontein, Cape Town, Durban, East London, Gqeberha, Johannesburg, Mthatha and Polokwane and by special arrangement, also at selected international venues. The CMSA will provide all computer hardware and software required for examinations. Strict COVID-19 prevention protocols are in place at all examination sites.

As the examinations take place over a long period, we release results in weekly tranches rather than at the end of all the examinations. Results are usually released four weeks after an examination.

You can find more information on the examinations under the “Examination Quick Information” section of our website. Once you have applied, we will provide you with more details on your examination. You can apply for the exams here. Queries can be emailed to academic.registrar@cmsa.co.za. Alternatively, you can call us on (011) 726 7037.

We would like to invite all potential candidates to a webinar on the 2nd semester examinations. The webinar will be hosted by the President of the CMSA. You can join us on Tuesday 20th April 2021 at 16h30 by registering here. Presentations will be followed by a Q&A session.

We aim to provide excellent service to all our candidates, so please don’t hesitate to contact us for advice or assistance.

Wishing you all the best for your examination,

Professor Eric Buch

CEO
