Part I of the Fellowship of the College of Emergency Medicine of South Africa - R 11400

Part I: 2 MCQ papers; no oral examination.

THE RESUSCITATION COUNCIL OF SOUTHERN AFRICA medal was donated in 2005 and is awarded to the best candidate in the practical component of the Fellowship examination of the College of Emergency Medicine of South Africa.

THE KLOECK FAMILY MEDAL was donated by the Academy of Advanced Life Support in 2005 and is awarded to candidates who achieve outstanding results in the Fellowship examination of the College of Emergency Medicine of South Africa.

THE CAMPBELL MACFARLANE MEMORIAL MEDAL was donated in 2006 by Netcare for the best candidate in the FCEM(SA) Part I examination of the College of Emergency Medicine of South Africa.

Part II

Part II: - 36 months in a numbered registrar training post. - Critical Performance Portfolio.

Fellowship of the College of Emergency Medicine of South Africa - R 21800

Part II:

  • 2 MCQ papers; oral and OSPE.
  • Candidates who achieve the required marks in the written component of the FCEM(SA) Part II examination but who fail the OSPE/oral examination will be exempt from the written component of the next examination session.  Such exemption applies to one sitting only and must be exercised in the following semester.

PLEASE NOTE that candidates that wish to lodge an appeal against the outcome of his/her written examination results must do so in accordance with the provisions of the CMSA’s Appeals Mechanism Policy. Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) are not made available to candidates for review in accordance with the CMSA’s Appeals Mechanism Policy.
