Dr Sharan Naaidoo

President

Dr Sharan Naidoo is a Specialist Maxillofacial and Oral Surgeon who obtained his Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BChD) at the University of Pretoria in 2000, followed by a Diploma in Oral Surgery in 2001.

He worked as a Dentist in the UK before returning to South Africa to train at the University of Pretoria as a Specialist in Maxillofacial and Oral Surgery. Dr Naidoo completed his Bachelor of Medicine (MBChB) at the University of Pretoria whilst training as a Specialist. He qualified as a Specialist Maxillofacial and Oral Surgeon at both the University of Pretoria and the College of Medicine in 2013.

Dr Naidoo became a recognised Fellow of the International Board Certification of Surgeons in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, a subsidiary of the International Association of Surgeons in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Dr Naidoo worked as a Specialist Consultant at the University of Pretoria and then was promoted to Head Clinical Unit at the Facial Cleft Deformity Clinic in 2016. He established a private practice at the Mediclinic Midstream Hospital in Pretoria, where he moved into full-time private practice in 2019. Dr Naidoo was appointed Acting Head of the Maxillofacial and Oral Surgery Department at the University of Pretoria until 2019.

Dr Sarel Botha

Dr Sarel Botha is a Maxillofacial and Oral Surgeon who obtained his Bachelor of Medicine (MBChB) at the University of Pretoria in 2005, followed by a year internship and a year community service at the South African Military Health Services.

He did a Diploma in Oral Surgery at the University of Pretoria in 2007 which were followed by his dental studies in 2008. He received his BChD degree in 2010 at the University of Pretoria whilst training as a Specialist in the field of Maxillofacial and Oral Surgery. He qualified as a Specialist Maxillofacial and Oral Surgeon at both the University of Pretoria and the College of Medicine in 2014.

Dr Botha became a recognised Fellow of the International Board Certification of Surgeons in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, a subsidiary of the International Association of Surgeons in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He did a 2 year fellowship in die field of head and neck oncology through the International Federation of Head and Neck Oncological Societies. Dr Botha worked as a Specialist Consultant in the field in of head and neck oncology at the University of Pretoria from 2014 to 2020. He established a private practice at Life Groenkloof Hospital in 2014. He opened a new practice at Cintocare Hospital in Pretoria in 2020.
